Kolkata. Vaibhav Suryavanshi may have been out for zero against Mumbai Indians, but this is not disappointed with his team Rajasthan Royals. Team bowling coach Shane Bond said that this 14 -year -old player has been given full ‘freedom’. Vaibhav was given freedom to play in his own way without making things more complex.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest batsman to score a century in the IPL by scoring a century in 35 balls against Gujarat Titans on 28 April. But he suffered a setback in the next match against Mumbai Indians. Vaibhav could not even open an account against Mumbai. Former New Zealand fast bowler Bond said, ‘He has got a little discount to play in his own way. He has really done amazing work as a 14 -year -old player so far.
Shane Bond said a day before the match against defending champion Kolkata Knight Riders, ‘I think the coaching staff has not tried to make things very complicated with Vaibhav. He had missed the last match but we do not really want to panic about such a younger player.
Shane Bond said that the team was focusing on reducing the pressure on the young batsman, so that it could express himself fearlessly. He said, ‘I know that (Assistant Coach) Vikram (Rathore) must have talked about his sports plans and bowlers he has to face. He will do this again for this match. He (Vaibhav) is still a very young player, so I am happy to go there and put big shots.
The 100 -run defeat in the last match against Mumbai Indians has led to the Rajasthan team out of the playoff race but Shane Bond advised the players to continue the struggle. He said, ‘Whether or not you are in the race for the title, it is more important for me that Rajasthan is a’ badge ‘of royals on your chest. This is about your attitude such as moving forward, competing, winning. It does not matter whether you are in the title race or not. Therefore, the players are expected to play with full enthusiasm without looking at the point table.
