Star batsman and former captain Virat Kohli’s bat is blowing fire. On the basis of his smokeless batting, this veteran made a record in the IPL that no one had made before. Virat Kohli has become the first player to score 600 runs five times a season in the history of the tournament.
Virat Kohli has performed brilliantly for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2025. In 14 league matches of this year’s IPL, he has scored a total of 602 runs with the help of eight half -centuries. Kohli created history during the last league match of RCB played against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow on Tuesday (May 27). He has become the first player to score 600 runs five times a season of IPL.
Virat Kohli scored 600 runs for the fifth time
Playing for RCB, Kohli scored 634 runs in 2013. Three years later, he set a great record of 973 runs in the 2016 IPL. In 2023, he had 639 runs with his bat while in 2024 scored 741 runs. Virat Kohli has scored 602 runs so far this season.
KL Rahul, Chris Gayle and David Warner are named after Kohli in the list of batsmen who have scored the most 600+ runs in a season of IPL. Rahul has crossed the 600-run mark four times after making his IPL debut in 2013, while Gayle and Warner have scored 600+ runs three times in their IPL career.

On Tuesday, Kohli scored 54 runs in 30 balls for RCB and hit 10 fours. His innings also broke Warner’s record of scoring the most half -century in the IPL. Former Australian opener scored 62 half -centuries in 184 matches in his IPL career while Kohli has so far scored 63 half -centuries in 265 matches.
