New Delhi. Litton Das has been appointed as the captain of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Bangladesh cricket team. 30 -year -old Litton will lead the team by 2026. Litton was not under the ODI cricket plan and he was not selected in the team for the Champions Trophy 2025. But he was an important player in the T20 team. After Najmul Hussain Shanto stepped away from the post of captain at the beginning of the year, BCB has decided to entrust the responsibility to Litton. Bangladesh has not played a single T20 match in 2025, and Litton’s first task will have to be led by Bangladesh for the 2 -match series against the UAE later this month.
Bangladesh will then play a 5 -match T20 series against Pakistan from 25 May to 3 June. But the biggest challenge of Litton Das will be against India. The Indian team is going to visit Bangladesh in August. This will be the first time that India will play T20 series on Bangladesh soil. Litan Das has captained all the formats of Bangladesh before this. Under his leadership, Bangladesh has played 11 matches where he has lost in 4.
