The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has suspended former Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth for three years for allegedly making false and derogatory statements in connection with the controversy related to the exclusion of Sanju Samson from the Indian team for the Champions Trophy. Sreesanth is currently the co-owner of Kollam Aries, a franchise team in the Kerala Cricket League.

During the panel discussion on the Malayalam television channel, KCA issued a show cause notice to Sreesanth for his comment connecting the state cricket body and Samson. Under this, he has also imposed a 3 -year ban on him, he will not be able to play 3 years from Kerala. In a statement, KCA clarified that notices were issued not to support Samson but to make misleading and derogatory remarks against the Sangh.

During the discussion on television, Sreesanth allegedly promised to support Samson and vowed to protect him and other players from Kerala, alleging KCA. His commentary came amid criticism by KCA to exclude Samson from the Kerala team for the Vijay Hazare Trophy. It is said that it affected the possibility of India’s choice for India’s Champions Trophy team.
