At the inauguration of the stand, Rohit Sharma said, I never thought in my dream. As a child, I wanted to play for Mumbai and India. I cannot tell this feeling among the great players of the game for me. This is also special because I am still playing. I have taken retirement from two formats, but I am still playing a format.

Rohit further said, when I play here against Delhi on the 21st in IPL, it will be a special feeling. Whenever I go to play here in future for India, it will become even more special.

Level-3 was named Rohit Sharma Stand

Divecha Pavilion Level-3 of Wankhede Stadium has now been named Rohit Sharma Stand. The proposal was introduced by Maharashtra leader Milind Narvekar, which was approved in the annual meeting last month.

At the same time, the Grand Stand Level-3 will now be known as Sharad Pawar Stand, while the name of Level-4 will be changed to Ajit Wadekar Stand. The office of Wankhede Stadium is now named in memory of former president Amol Kale.
