New DelhiThe Indian team’s new Test captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s captaincy style were ‘very different’, but these two players have given ‘blueprint’ to win the Test series abroad with veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Gill was appointed as the new Test captain of India on Saturday. The first challenge before this 25 -year -old player will be a five -Test series in England.
Gill said in the video released by BCCI, “Players like Rohit Bhai, Virat Bhai and Ashwin Bhai have made us a blueprint as to how to visit abroad. How to win matches and series. Yes, performing and fielding plans is a different thing. We have its blueprint. So we know how to visit abroad and how to succeed in the match and series. ”
Gill said that Kohli and Rohit’s leadership style was quite different but both also had many similarity. He said, “When I was a child, I was inspired by the veterans of Indian cricket. I am very lucky that I got a chance to play with players like Virat Bhai or Rohit Bhai. There was a lot of difference in the way both of them lead. It was quite inspiring to see that both had only one goal. You want to win as a captain and your style can vary. Both of them were the same in many cases despite being very different.
Gill said, “Virat Bhai was always very aggressive. He wanted to lead responsibility and play with passion. This was his identity. Rohit Bhai was also aggressive but it was not seen in his gesture. He always had aggressive thinking on the field. Rohit Bhai is very calm and strategically alert and in the present time. He is very good in communicating with the players and tells what he needs from his players. These are the qualities that I have learned from them. ”
