Punjab Kings: Punjab Kings bowling coach James Hopes wants his players to avoid ‘doubt of themselves’ before their next attempt to reach the title match.

Punjab Kings got a chance once again.
New Delhi. Despite the poor performance in the Indian Premier League’s qualifier 1, hoping to reach the finals for the first time in 11 years, Punjab Kings bowling coach James Hops wants his players to avoid ‘doubt’ before their next attempt to reach the title match. Punjab Kings topped the league stage with their aggressive game but lost by eight wickets against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday.
The team will get another chance to secure a place in the final by winning the second qualifier on Sunday. Hopes said after this crushing defeat, “The worst for our batsmen can be that they start doubting themselves. We batted well in the initial over but after that continued to lose wickets. It is important that we leave this performance behind and move forward. We have to travel tomorrow (Friday) and play another match on Sunday and now we are going to do it in a difficult way.
He said, “I hope that we will face RCB again on Tuesday night (final). To be honest, we did not perform very well with the bat, but now we have another chance to reach the final. We have worked for more than two months to get the right to get a second chance and hope that we will take advantage of this opportunity.
On the help of fast bowlers, the Punjab Kings batsmen adopted excessive aggressive attitude on which the team was dismissed for 101 runs. Josh Hazlewood and leg-spinner Suyash Sharma, who are returning from injury, pushed the Punjab Kings batsmen on the backfoot with three wickets.
