New Delhi. Rishabh Pant, who captained the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League 2025, was not special. In the last league match, even after scoring a century against Royal Challengers, the team could not win. Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin was enraged at one of his decisions during this match. He criticized Rishabh Pant’s Digvesh Rathi for his back appeal. Ashwin said that such a decision is like degrading his bowler.
The incident took place during the last league match of IPL 2025 which was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. On the fifth ball of the 17th over of Run Chase, Rathi tried to run out RCB’s stand-in captain Jitesh Sharma at Non-Striker & but LSG captain Pant withdrew the appeal.
