New Delhi. The IPL match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was canceled in the middle due to security reasons. Because an air strike was warned in areas around Dharamshala Stadium. Due to which ‘blackout’ was done in the city. The Punjab team had scored 122 runs for one wicket in 10.1 overs when the lights went away but the reason for this was said to be the first ‘floodlight’ malfunction.

But the teams and spectators were later thrown out of the stadium for their safety. Prabhasimran Singh was batting by scoring 50 runs off 28 balls, while his opener Priyansh Arya scored 70 off 34 balls and was dismissed by fast bowler T Natarajan, soon after which the game had to be stopped.

Earlier, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals started an hour late due to rain. Due to which there was more disruption in the match. The incident took place in the 11th over of Punjab’s innings, when opener Priyansh Arya was out, and both teams had to return to the dressing room for some time.

The BCCI issued a statement saying, “The Punjab Kings vs Delhi Capitals Match (Match 58) had to be canceled in the Tata IPL due to technical fault at HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala. Due to lack of electricity in the area, one of the light tower at the HPCA Stadium caused a malfunction. The BCCI is sorry for the inconvenience to the audience present at the Stadium.

Meanwhile, the next match of Punjab Kings vs Mumbai Indians has been shifted to Ahmedabad due to logistic challenges. As far as Punjab Kings vs. Delhi match is talked about, after batting first, Punjab scored 122/1 in 10.1 overs, in which Priyansh Arya scored 70 runs off just 34 balls. Prayansh completed a half -century off 25 balls.
