New Delhi: After losing the last night to Punjab Kings, it was decided that Mumbai Indians would not finish the top-2 position of the playoffs. History is witness that all the five trophies that Mumbai have won by playing qualifier-1 and not eliminator. After the crushing defeat on the night of 26 May, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya admitted that his team scored 20 runs.
Eliminator’s half -century
Mumbai Indians have played a total of four eliminators so far, in 2011, after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders, the team lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore in Qualifier-2. In 2012 and 2014, Mumbai was defeated by Chennai in Eliminator and dropped out of the tournament. In IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians defeated Lucknow in eliminator, but in the qualifier-2, Gujarat Titans defeated the dream of the final by defeating.

Chasing the target of 185 runs in Mumbai, Punjab Kings won the half -century of Josh English (73 runs, 42 balls, nine fours, three sixes) and Priyansh Arya (62 runs, 35 balls, nine fours, two sixes) and the second wicket’s 109 -run partnership between the two and won 187 for three wickets in 18.3 overs.
Suryakumar Yadav earlier scored 57 runs in 39 balls with six fours and two sixes, scoring 184 runs for seven wickets. Hardik admitted after the match that his team could not perform well and his batsmen scored 20 runs.
