Mitchell Marsh Joins Brother Shaunmarsh Milestone: For the first time in IPL, brothers created history

New Delhi. In IPL 2025, Mitchell Marsh of Lucknow Super Giants created history during his team’s 13th league match. Marsh has become the second batsman of Lucknow to score six half -centuries this season. He completed his century in 56 balls. His brother Sean Marsh scored a century 17 years ago. Mitchell Marsh and Sean Marsh have become the first brother-brother pair to score a century in the IPL.

Shaun Marsh’s only Indian Premier League (IPL) century came to play for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in the first session of 2008. On May 28, 2008, Marsh scored 115 off 69 balls in the league match against Rajasthan Royals in Mohali. Which included 11 fours and 7 sixes. Due to which his team reached a total score of 221/3 and won 41 runs. This is the first time in the IPL when two real brothers have scored a century.

Marsh became the third batsman to score 500 runs in an IPL season for LSG as soon as he crossed the 57 -run figure. Before that, Rahul and Quinton de Kock achieved this feat. In IPL 2022, Rahul scored a total of 616 runs in 15 matches and D Kock scored 508 runs in 15 matches. In IPL 2024, Rahul scored 520 runs in 14 matches with the help of four half -centuries. Rahul and Marsh are more than 50 runs scorers for Lucknow.

Marsh bought cheap
Marsh was bought by the Lucknow franchise for Rs 3.40 crore in the mega auction of IPL 2025. On Thursday, he scored his sixth half -century of this season against Gujarat Titans at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In IPL 2022, Rahul also scored six half -centuries for Sanjeev Goenka’s team. In that season, Rahul scored two centuries and four half -centuries in 15 matches. The name of Aiden Markram comes after Marsh in the list of batsmen who scored the highest half -century in a season for LSG.
