Now the thrill of boundary catch will be less, if the ball is thrown twice ... the rule has changed

The ICC has changed the rules of catching the catch by going outside the boundary line.

Highlights

  • The rules of the catch taken near the boundary line changed.
  • In the catchs on which the wickets were received, now 6 runs will be given.
  • Changes in 2 ball rules in an innings in ODIs.

New Delhi. There is no thrill of just fours and sixes in cricket. From accurate bowling to the best fielding also has its own magic. For some years, the thrill of catches on the boundary has also increased. How can anyone forget Suryakumar Yadav’s catch in the T20 World Cup final. But now the rules of catch taken on the boundary are going to change. This will transform many catches, which will be valid so far into sixes.

The rule in lieu of catch has been added to the playing condition of the ICC. This rule is going to be implemented this month. It will get a place in MCC rules in October 2026. Under this, now such catches will be declared invalid in which the fielder stays outside the boundary and touches the ball twice. Even if he stays in the air while touching the ball. In the revenge rule, if the ball touches the ball two or more times, it will be considered a six.

Apart from this catch, the ICC has also changed many rules, which are going to be implemented from this month. One of these is of two new balls in Namay ODI matches. Now two new balls will be used from 1 to 34 overs in an innings of the ODI match. After 34 overs, the fielding team will choose one of both balls. This ball will be used from over 35 to 50.
