Kagiso could play only 2 matches in the 18th season of IPL due to failure in Rabada Doping Test. They are facing a temporary ban.
South African fast bowler Kagiso Rabada revealed that he was facing a temperament ban due to failure in the doping test. He consumed the ICC ban medicine during the South Africa T20 League (SA20) in January this year. After coming to the dope test positive, he had to leave the IPL on 3 April and return to South Africa.
Rabada has currently come to India for IPL, he released a statement to South Africa cricket. However, when he returned to the country, his IPL team Gujarat Titans had said that he has gone to South Africa for family reasons.
Rabada apologizes
Rabada said, ‘I had to return to South Africa after coming positive in the dope test. I apologize to fans and my team. I never want to joke cricket. Playing cricket for South Africa is the biggest achievement of my life, I am embarrassed by my mistake. I am currently facing a temporary ban, but will return to the cricket field soon.
The South Africa Cricket Association shared Kagiso Rabada’s statement on social media.

Rabada said, ‘I could not face this situation alone. I thank my agent, South Africa Cricket and Gujarat Titans for their support. I also want to thank my friends and family, who supported me in this situation. I do not want it to become a black stain of my life. I will always keep playing cricket for the country with hard work and dedication.
Rabada could play only 2 IPL matches
Rabada was bought by Gujarat Titans in the 18th IPL season. However, he could play only 2 matches from the team, in which he took 2 wickets. After the second match, he had to return to South Africa on 3 April. How many days or month they were banned, it has not been revealed yet. However, it is believed that after returning to India, he will soon be seen playing IPL.
Kagiso Rabada, who made IPL debut in 2017, was playing from Gujarat Titans for the first time.
South Africa will play WTC final on 11 June
Rabada is an important part of the South African team. The team is also to play the final of the World Test Championship against Australia on 11 June next month. If the ban is not removed from Rabada till then his team may face difficulties. Because Rabada is the lead pacer of the team.
