IPL Team-Wise Breakdown of India Test Squad | Not a single player from 2 teams of IPL got a place in Team India, one RCB and another?

New Delhi. The Indian Test team has been announced for the tour of England amid the thrill of IPL 2025. In the team that BCCI has chosen for the Test series, the effect of IPL is very rare. Karun Nair, who flopped in the IPL, is proof of getting a place in the Test team for Nitish Kumar Reddy. Similarly, Shreyas Iyer, who is in tremendous form, has not been able to make a place in the Test team. Talking about IPL teams, not a single player from Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders has been selected in the Indian Test team.

The Indian team will play a five -match series against England from next month. The first match of the series will be played in Leeds from 20 June. This will be followed by matches at Birmingham, Lords, Manchester and The Oval. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar on Saturday announced India’s 18 -member team for this series. Of these 18 players, 17 are playing in IPL 2025. The maximum number of 5 players are from Gujarat Titans. These players are- Shubman Gill, Sai Sudarshan, Washington Sundar, Mohammad Siraj and famous Krishna. Gill has been made the captain of the team.

After the Gujarat Titans, the maximum number of 3-3 players have been selected from Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Supergiants. KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav and Karun Nair of Delhi Capitals will visit England. Karun Nair has returned to the Test team after 8 years. Kuldeep Yadav last played the Test in October 2024.

Rishabh Pant of Lucknow Super Giants, Akash Deep, Shardul Thakur will visit England. Pant has been made the vice -captain of the team. He will be the first choice for the Test team as a wicketkeeper-batsman. Shardul Thakur has returned to the Test team after more than a year. Akash Deep has also retained its place for the series from England after the tour of Australia.

Yashasvi Jaiswal of Rajasthan Royals and Dhruv Jurael have managed to make it to the Test team. Only one player from Mumbai Indians will be on England tour and they are Jasprit Bumrah. Similarly, one player each of Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings has been selected in the Test team. Ravindra Jadeja from CSK and Arshdeep Singh from Punjab Kings have got a place in the Indian Test team. Surprisingly, not a single player of the franchise (KKR) won the title last year was considered worthy of the Test team. Similarly, along with the retirement of Virat Kohli, the representation of Royal Challengers Bangalore has also ended with the Test team.
