New Delhi. The Indian Premier League (IPL) was postponed for a week in view of the situation like the war born between India and Pakistan. Now it will be started soon. The franchise teams can return and give freedom to foreign players for playing the series again. It can give freedom to decide whether they want to return to the second part of the tournament.

On Friday, the BCCI suspended the rest of the IPL 2025 with immediate effect for a week due to cross -border tension. The BCCI has not given any formal information to the teams about the time limit for the resume of IPL. The CEO of a team told Revsportz, “We will not put any pressure on anyone and leave it on them. Yes, this is an unexpected incident that is not under anyone’s control.”

There is no compulsion to come to India and play

Force Magure is a contract clause that allows individuals to complete their contracts in case of extraordinary events, which are out of their control. Prior to IPL 2025, the BCCI had introduced a new rule stating that if a player moves away from the tournament after being selected in the mega auction, he would be banned from participating for two seasons. Force Magure makes this rule unnecessary and irrelevant.

There may be a meeting between BCCI officials and representatives of the central government on Monday. In this, the BCCI can finalize the deadline for the IPL and make a formal announcement. According to reports, the members of the BCCI discussed with the government to hold the remaining 16 matches of the tournament, including four playoffs. It was an attempt to decide when and where the remaining matches of the tournament could be organized.

Special instructions from BCCI to franchise team

Reports also said that BCCI is planning to complete IPL 2025 by the end of this month. The plan is expected to move forward with the ceasefire. Till Monday morning, there was no information about any team management contacting their foreign players. According to reports, representatives of many teams have said that they will wait for more clear and special date before they call back their foreign players.
