CSK was already at the bottom of the IPL 2025 points table. Now he has only four points after eight matches and he will have to win the rest of his six matches to make it to the top four. In this match, Chennai’s team was able to score only 176 for the flat Wankhede wicket and Mumbai achieved the target by losing 1 wicket in the 16th over. With such a performance, it is difficult for the team to win all the matches ahead.

After the defeat, Dhoni said, “We have to see if we are playing cricket correctly, scoring as per the need. Catching some more catch will help the team to give better results. We are trying to fill the loop hole. Take a match at a time. If we do not qualify, we will watch the combination for the next season.”

This was one of CSK’s worst defeat in the last few years. This was the first defeat of the team against Mumbai after 2022. The batting order looked weak, which was clear from the fact that the top scorer Shivam Dubey and Ravindra Jadeja could barely cross the strike rate of 150.

Dhoni said, “We knew that the second innings would have dew. Bumrah is one of the best death bowlers in the world, Mi started his death bowling quickly, we should also start our slogging quickly.
