India Squad for England Test: Team India can be announced today i.e. May 24 for the tour of England. BCCI can approve not only the squad but also the new captain. Meanwhile, there is speculation that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s old partner can return to the Test team after about 2 years. There is talk of Cheteshwar Pujara here, who have passed about 2 years since playing Test matches. Virat and Rohit have taken retirement, but Pujara has been in discussion about his return despite being out of Team India for almost 2 years.
Cheteshwar Pujara’s return?
Recently, the topic of ‘Cheteshwar Pujara’s return’ was trending a lot on social media. Now a report of cricbing has revealed that there is no mind to look back of BCCI. The mind of looking back means much less likely that the board will turn to the old players. In such a situation, Pujara may not be returned, but in the report it was definitely told that Devdutt Padikkal or Sarfaraz Khan can be included in the Test Squad.
Cheteshwar Pujara played the last Test against Australia in June 2023. Pujara has scored 7,195 runs in his 103 Test career, including 19 centuries and 35 fifty. After being out of Team India, Pujara has been very active in first-class cricket, but his figures have not been very good. Last year, he could not score much runs for Sussex in county cricket.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) can announce Team India today i.e. on 24 May. It is being told that Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar can announce Team India through a press conference at 1:30 pm today.
