Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025 playoffs will miss Jose Butler: Matthew Wade

Ahmedabad. The Gujarat Titans team, which has made it to the Indian Premier League 2025 playoffs, is at the top of the end table. The team will not get the facility of star batsman Jose Butler in the playoffs. Assistant coach Matthew Wade feels that Jose Butler’s absence in the knockout stage may highlight the weaknesses of the middle order of Gujarat Titans. It will also be an opportunity for other players to put a ‘big impact’.

The trio of Sai Sudarshan, Shubman Gill and Butler’s Titans has played an important role in their campaign. All three have scored more than 500 runs this season. However, the Gujarat team will not get Butler’s services in the play -offs as this England cricketer will leave for the national team to join the national team after the team’s final league match against Chennai Super Kings on 25 May.

“This definitely does not worry us with a press conference before the match against Lucknow Supergiants,” we know that when they get an opportunity they are in great form and they will perform brilliantly for us. If the top three batsmen keep scoring most of the runs then it will be good. We will lose Jose after some more matches, so someone else will get another chance to come in third place and handle that role. ”

Wade said, “I am confident that when they (alternative players) get a chance, they will make a big impact in matches as they have done when needed in the last six or eight weeks.”

Wade said that it is difficult to repeat the positions of the match in practice but the team is trying to give adequate opportunity to the middle order batsmen. He said, “The positive thing is that in the middle order, there are players like Sherfen (Rutherford) and Shah Rukh (Khan), (Rahul) Tewatia, when they have got a chance, they have made good impact in the match, they have not got a chance to play more in the last few weeks.”
