New Delhi. In the Indian Premier League 2025, Delhi Capitals came to play with the new captain in the do or die. Regular captain Akshar Patel against Mumbai Indians did not play due to ill health. Faf du Plessis got a chance to captain the team and he set a unique record. This South African veteran has now become the oldest player to captain Delhi in the history of the tournament.
After winning the toss, Faf said, “(about the letter) is unfortunate that he has been very ill for the last two days, suffering from flu, so we wish him to get well soon. He has done well for us in this season, and we will definitely miss him today.”
