New Delhi. Host England have moved towards victory after raising a mountain of runs in a Test match against Zimbabwe. England team can win this 4 -day match in three days. England assigned Zimbabwe to just 265 runs on the second day of the match. After this, he gave a follow -on to the visiting team. Zimbabwe has lost his two wickets for just 30 runs while playing follow -on. He still needs 270 runs to avoid the defeat of the innings, while his eight wickets are left. Both teams have come face to face in the Test for the first time in 22 years.

The team of Zimbabwe, buried under England’s huge score, falter in the first innings despite the century of Brian Bennett. Opener Brian Bennett scored 139 runs and faced English bowlers firmly. But as soon as he was out, there was a fall of wickets in Zimbabwe’s innings. Zimbabwe lost six wickets (four of the first innings and two of the second innings) in the last session of the second day. It also includes the wicket of Bennett (one run) in the second innings.
Earlier, after a dominated performance on the opening day, England started playing by 498 runs for three wickets in the morning. He lost the wicket of Oli Pope in the session on the second day. He could add just two runs in the first day’s score and was dismissed for 171 runs. Captain Ben Stokes reached the pavilion after scoring nine runs. Harry Brooke scored an innings of 58 runs off 50 balls and was dismissed by Blessing Mujbani, after which England declared the innings. Jamie Smith remained unbeaten after scoring four runs.
Test series is to be played between India and Zimbabwe from the third week of June. This will be a five -match series. It will also be the first series of the World Test Championship of both teams 2025-27 cycle. Before this series, England has alerted India by doing a bad condition of Zimbabwe that the path is not going to be easy for it.
