New Delhi. Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivkumar has denied rumors of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) buying IPL franchisees. Shivkumar commented, “What do I need RCB? I don’t even drink Royal Challenge,” clarifying that he is not interested in buying a team. RCB won the cup by defeating Punjab in the final of IPL 2025 this year.
Due to this speculation, there was an increase in the price of United Spirits in the Bombay Stock Exchange. After which the company clarified that no such decision has been taken on their behalf so far. The price of RCB franchise is around ₹ 8,600 crore (about $ 1 billion). On the next day of the final, 11 people died and 56 were injured after a crowd of millions of fans at the Chinnaswamy Stadium.
