New Delhi. When the entire Cricket World is waiting for the IPL final on June 3, New Zealand has released its central contract. The biggest thing about this central contract is that former captain Kane Williamson has once again turned down it. This has made it difficult for Kane Williamson to play in the two -Test series against Zimbabwe next month.
Kane Williamson did not accept the central contract last year so that he would be free to play in T20 and other leagues around the world. He signed an informal contract last year instead. New Zealand played 13 Test matches in 2024. Kane Williamson participated in nine of these matches and scored more than 1,000 runs. Dewon Conway, Tim Sifart, Locky Ferguson, who played in the IPL, have also refused to take the central contract. Ish Sodhi and Ejaz Patel have not been offered contract offers.

Kane Williamson’s name is not included in the 20 contracted players who released the list of New Zealand Cricket on Tuesday. Apart from them, Davon Conway, Finn Elon, Tim Ciphurt and Locky Ferguson are also not included in this lis. All these players are playing in the T20 league abroad. It is likely that Kane Williamson will again sign an informal contract.
