Jofra Archer desperately wants to return in test cricket: England captain Ben Stokes has said that fast bowler Joffra Archer is desperate to make a comeback in Test cricket. Archer is also messaging Captain Stokes from time to time regarding withdrawal. Archer last played Test cricket in February 2021. After this, due to injury, he is constantly running out of the team. Archer recently messaged Stokes, ‘Jim’. This message of Archer meant last month from England’s only Test match against Zimbabwe. He wanted to return to the Test team against Zimbabwe.
What happened in Stokes-Murcher?
During the press conference before the match against India, Stokes talked about Archer. He told what has happened between the two. Stokes said, “He is desperate to return to Test cricket, he suddenly messaged me- ‘Jim?’ Meaning, I am playing against Zimbabwe? I had to stop it right now.
Archer has been out of the Test team due to injury for the last four years. His albow had a problem for a long time. After this, he suffered an injury to his thumb in the IPL. Because of which he was out of the first Test against India. However, it is expected that he may be seen playing for Sussex in the county championship this week. In the hope that he should be ready to play in the second Test against India.

Archer made his Test debut in 2019. After this, he was able to play only 13 Test matches. Most of the team remained outside the team due to injury. Archer has taken 42 wickets in these 13 Tests. Archer’s average has been around 32 during this period. Archer last played against Team India in the year 2021. During that time, Archer took four wickets in 3 innings against India.
