BCCI has suspended IPL 2025: IPL tournament postponed due to Indo-Pak tension

New Delhi. The Indian Premier League has been postponed due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. On Thursday, the Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals were canceled in Dharamshala. The Indian Premier League (IPL) was postponed indefinitely on Friday. After warning of an airstrikes in neighboring cities Jammu and Pathankot, there was a cloud of uncertainty over the future of the edition since the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was canceled on Thursday in Dharamshala.

A BCCI official told PTI, “It is not good that cricket is going on when war is going on in the country.” He confirmed the suspension of the league, which was to conclude on 25 May in Kolkata.

India carried out missile attacks on the terrorist structure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a fortnight after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, killing 26 people.

Blackouts were implemented in many districts including Pathankot, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Mohali and Union Territory Chandigarh in Punjab amid reports of air strike warnings and explosion in Jammu on Thursday.
