Azharuddin news: Former India captain Mohammad Azharuddin expressed his anguish by the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) Lokpal on the instructions of removing his name from the northern stand of Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. Talking to IANS, the experienced batsman said that it is ‘heartbroken’ and ‘completely insult to the game’.

Azharuddin angry with the verdict

He told IANS, “I feel very sad to say this, but sometimes I regret playing cricket. Seeing this, the heart is broken that people who do not understand very little or at all about the game are now in a position to teach and lead. It is completely insult to the game.” Azharuddin said that he would take legal action and urge the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to intervene in the matter.

The former captain said, “I am determined to take legal action against this injustice and I urge the BCCI to intervene and take appropriate action. The issue is not alone – Sunrisers Hyderabad also had a dispute with the association overpass, which highlights the pattern of mismanagement and conflict.”

Accused of misusing his position

He said, “Whatever is coming out is beyond comprehension and it hurts me on a personal level. I was not allowed to contest HCA elections, just because I exposed corruption within the system. This truth targeted me.” Justice (retired) V. Ishwariah, who serves as a morality officer of HCA, took this decision on the basis of a petition submitted by Lords Cricket Club, a member unit of the Union, a member unit of the Union. In the petition, former HCA President Azharuddin was accused of misusing his post by taking arbitrary decisions.

In particular, it alleged that Azharuddin violated HCA rules by attending a top council meeting as the then chairman in December 2019, during which a resolution was passed to name the northern stand after his office. According to the HCA Constitution, such a proposal requires the general assembly. Azharuddin was the President of HCA from September 2019 to September 2023.
