New Delhi. Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Punjab Kings in the IPL final to capture the title for the first time. At one time it seemed that Punjab would easily win this match. But only something was written in luck. The Punjab Kings could not capture the title despite batting till the end of Shashank Singh. During the 18th over, Virat Kohli also jumped to celebrate one wicket.
This is the first title in the IPL for RCB and Virat Kohli. He never won the trophy in an 18 -year career. But the year 2025 remained in his name and he returned home with a trophy. Punjab needed 29 runs in the last over and Josh Hazlewood decided to win by putting a second dot ball. For Punjab, no batsman could run apart from Shashank Singh (61 off 30 balls).
Earlier, Punjab Kings stopped Royal Challengers Bangalore for nine wickets for 190 runs on the strength of their bowlers led by Arshdeep Singh and Kyle Jaymison. For RCB, Kohli was dismissed for 43 runs at a strike rate of 122.85 in 35 balls. Kohli hit only three fours in his innings. In Powerplay, RCB score was 55 runs for one wicket but only 42 runs were scored from the sixth to 11th over.
