New Delhi. Women’s ODI World Cup 2025 (Women’s ODI World Cup 2025) will be played in India and Sri Lanka between September 30 to November 2, some of which will also be played in Colombo. India was the only host of this earlier, but the tournament matches will now be played in Bengaluru, Guwahati, Indore, Visakhapatnam and Colombo. Let’s know why there will be matches in Colombo?

Colombo has been added because Pakistan will not come to India for ICC tournaments and the hybrid model was approved in the Champions Trophy earlier this year. Under this, India played their matches in Dubai while Pakistan and the rest of the teams had matches in Pakistan. On this condition, the ICC has decided to get some matches of the Women’s T20 World Cup out of India.

The ICC said in a media release, “This tournament will start in Bengaluru from 30 September. Women’s Cricket World Cup is being done in India after 12 years. The first semi -finals will be held on 29 October in Guwahati or Colombo while the second will be played in Bengaluru on 30 October. The final will be held on November 2 in Bengaluru or Colombo. Apart from host India, defending champions Australia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand and South Africa will participate in it.

Pakistan and Bangladesh have made it to the top two in the qualifiers of six teams in April. Australia is a seven -time champion while India has not won even once. This year, India will try to capture the trophy. Team India has not been announced at the moment but the entry of players like Smriti Mandhana, Harmanpreet Kaur is confirmed in it.
