New DelhiMatthew Mot, assistant coach of Delhi Capitals, admitted that his campaign had derailed in the second half of the IPL season. But on Saturday, his team will try to perform better against Punjab Kings. Mot has also told that we will do medical examination of Akshar Patel.
Talking about the performance of Delhi Capitals, Mot said, “There is still a lot of enthusiasm. Our campaign was not good. We won many matches in the initial session but the second half was bad. Therefore, I think it is an opportunity for us to sign a positive note.” Talking on Akshar Patel, he said, “The answer honestly is that I do not know completely. He is not taking training today. But, we will find out when we come back today.
Mot further said, “Obviously he was not well. He had to go through a lot of difficult time due to some different minor problems and injuries. I am sure that he is motivated to come on the field, but tonight when we go back and do medical examination, we will probably know a little more.”
Regarding the performance of other Indians, Mot said, “Sameer (Rizvi) really performed brilliantly in the last match. Abhishek Porel has played some of the best counter-punching knocks and perhaps his next step will have to be converted into the match winning contribution. But our whole group is exciting and talented.”
