After losing the toss, Lucknow, who came out to bat first, scored 205 runs for 7 wickets. The bowlers failed to defend this target and Hyderabad achieved it at the loss of 4 wickets in 18.2 overs. With this defeat, Rishabh Pant’s team got out of the playoff race. After the match, he told that the team that was prepared after the auction changed by the start of the tournament.

Rishabh Pant said, “We knew that we had to fulfill some deficiency due to injuries. As a team we had decided that we would not talk about it. But it was necessary to fill the difference. The way we had planned the auction, if we had the same bowling, the story would have been different. The team that we had chosen changed completely during the tournament.”

He further said, “Sometimes things happen in your favor, sometimes not. We are proud of the way we played and will look at positive aspects. We have strong batting ability. I would also like to say for bowlers that many times they bowled in good fields. We were trying to use it best.”
