Decision on Monday 12 May to resume IPL 2025
New Delhi. The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was postponed for a week in view of the situation like war born between India and Pakistan. Now there is a plan to start it again. The BCCI is likely to resume in Lucknow on 16 or 17 May in Lucknow between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bangalore. According to the report of news agency PTI, the league will start again with this match to be played on 9 May.
A source told PTI, “All teams have been asked to recall their players, the tournament will resume in Lucknow on 16 or 17 May. The final schedule will be shared on Monday.”
Four places can be compared
It has also been told that the remaining matches will be played at four places and now there will be no match in Delhi and Dharamshala. The source further said, “There is a possibility that the matches will be played at four places and there will be no match in Delhi and Dharamshala. All the equipment has already been removed from these places.”
The IPL 2025 was officially postponed for a week. On May 8, it was decided to stop the 58th league match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium after 10.1 overs. It was stopped due to increasing tension between India and Pakistan. According to PTI, the PBKS-DC match will not be played again and both teams will be given one point each.
7 teams involved in playoff race
A total of 7 teams, including Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants, are currently in the race for IPL 2025 playoffs. GT and RCB will move forward when winning one of the remaining three league matches, while PBKs can also qualify for the playoffs for the first time in 11 years if one of the remaining league matches.
As far as Mi and DC are concerned, they will directly qualify for winning the remaining league matches. The qualification status of KKR and LSG will depend on the results of the rest of the teams as well as their own performance.
