New Delhi. The Indian women’s cricket team has suffered defeat against Sri Lanka. Host Sri Lanka defeated India by 3 wickets in the Tri -series match. This is Sri Lanka’s second win in three matches. After this victory, the point table has 4 points equal to India. However, the Indian team is first and Sri Lanka at number two on the basis of better runrate. South Africa’s team ranks third in the point table.
The Indian women’s team scored 275 runs for 9 wickets against Sri Lanka on Sunday. In response to this, Sri Lanka achieved the target by losing 7 wickets in 49.1 overs. India once took 5 wickets of hosts Sri Lanka for 209 runs. Then the Indian team looked heavy. But Nilakshi Dicilva (56), Anushka Sanjeevani (23 not out) and Sugandika Kumari (19 unbeaten) overturned.
Anushka-Sugandika’s winning partnership
Sri Lanka lost 7 wickets for 238 runs at one time. Then he needed 38 runs to win and India needed 3 wickets. The match was equal but Anushka Sanjeevani and Sugandika Kumari gave an unbeaten partnership of 38 runs to give Sri Lanka victory. Off -spinner Sneh Rana took the most 3 wickets from India. Arundhati Reddy, Pratika Rawal and N. Charani took one wicket each.
Richa Ghosh’s fifty wasted
Earlier, India scored 275 runs for 9 wickets in 50 overs. Wicketkeeper Batter Richa Ghosh (58) scored the most runs for India. Jemimah Rodrigues scored 37, Pratika Rawal 35, captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored 30 runs. Harleen Deol scored 29, Deepti Sharma 24, Smriti Mandhana 18 and Kashvi Gautam scored 17 runs. For Sri Lanka, Sugandika Kumari and captain Chamari Atapattu took 3-3 wickets.
